Data Engineer

We are growing fast and looking for a new colleague to join our Product Development team, made up of geeky, diverse, fun, and data-driven colleagues.

Convious Engineering team is small and flexible, and each new team member will shape how our team works. It is fine if you do not have experience with the specific technologies we use, as long as you are willing to learn.

We are looking for Data Engineer to work with the data platform. In this role, you will work on building out the data platform empowering Data Engineers and Data Scientists to build services powering the ticketing platform, mobile app, and customer portal. As we continue to expand you will have an opportunity to introduce new tools, workflows, and services to support new and existing data products. You will be free to choose the balance that works for you.

Role and responsibilities:

• Introduce new tools and workflows, and improve existing ones to make data processing and analysis easier and faster

• Design, integrate, and document technical components to grow our data platform

• Maintain and improve the current data platform

• Optimise the performance of the data platform to enable 100x scaling

• Investigate data problems, identify patterns and provide solutions

• Support data engineers and data scientists when using the tools.

Skills and qualifications:

• Strong engineering background that also includes IT infrastructure, business intelligence, or advanced analytics development

• Experience in data warehouse design and data processing tools

• Experience in data pipeline design, both batch, and streaming

• Strong willingness to code in Python; it's fine if you are specialized in other language(s) as long as you're willing to switch to Python

• Strong experience with SQL

• RESTful API development and deployment experience

• Experience consuming REST and Graphql APIs

• Excellent communication skills and professional proficiency in English

• Ability to balance code quality with rapid iterations and evolution of the product
